FAQ

How many working hours are in a year?

At 40 hours a week, 2,080 (40 × 52). At 37.5 hours, 1,950.

Is overtime taxed more?

Overtime is taxed at your normal rates, but PAYE tables treat each pay as if you earned that much all year, so a big week can have more tax taken. Any over-deduction comes back at the end of the tax year.

What is $30.00 an hour a year?

$62,400 at 40 hours a week, or $50,368 after PAYE and ACC.
